Spreading Color

An Orange and Black Monarch flutters into a sepia environment spreading color throughout the garden in her wake.

The orange color is a natural discoloration that occured when this piece was picked and placed into a plastic bag. The orange did not change when the fungus was dried nor did it change when it was burned and coated with gel stain. The gel stain helps to protect the burning from fading.

Even the smallest of creatures, such as the butterfly spread color and beauty where ever they go. Enjoy!
