This unique fungus, shelf mushroom or better known artist conk was collected way back in the forest of the Clayoquot Sound area. Each piece has to be pryed carefully from the tree so as not to bruise the surface. It takes months to dry to be a useable surface and then I study the piece for months before it speaks to me on how to use its natural shape in a creation that would be pleasing to the eye. Each piece is intended for indoor display. Weather will fade and deteriorate the piece. Dust with a soft dry cloth.
